On A Slow Boat To Gaza
This track is dedicated to the brave women of the Freedom Flotilla demonstrating peacefully against the israelian blockade against gaza.
Their boats with supplies for the people in Gaza and 13 women on board (among them Mairead Maguire, the 1976 Nobel Peace laureate) were hijacked by the israelian Navy in international waters on 5th October 2016. The women were illegally detained by the authorities for some days. Although UN officials were protesting in an open letter to the israelian government and the Nobel Peace Prize awarding was in progress at that time, the western media took no effort in noticing an ongoing violation of human rights and international law by a major member of the United Nations.
